Pick whatever you like at It’s Caramel by Karamelleriet on Jægersborggade – With a new twist to its name and look, this beloved confectionery continues to craft the country’s finest caramels

Wonderful scents waft onto the street as buttery caramel bubbles away in copper kettles just beyond the window. Bright colors and nature-inspired names beckon you inside the cozy shop where new taste experiences await exploring. Everything is slow-cooked and crafted by hand, and the open workshop allows you to witness the magic. Better yet, you can taste it, as a sample of still-warm freshly made caramel melts on your tongue. Tine Ipsen and Charlotte Vigel hail from the island of Bornholm and have put their heart and soul into Karamelleriet since 2006. With a new twist to its name and look, this beloved confectionery continues to celebrate old-school caramel cookery.

+ ABOUT

Karamelleriet has been capturing the hearts and tastebuds of Copenhageners for nearly two decades now, and everyone from Condé Nast to The New York Times has written about their fanciful flavors. Each delectable bite is slow-cooked, shaped, and cut by hand, and owners Tine Ipsen and Charlotte Vigel love to pay homage to their birthplace of Bornholm by demonstrating true craftsmanship. This summer, they revitalized the name and packaging for their tantalizing treats, making it even easier to understand what their sweet shop is all about. But, there’s never been any doubt – this place crafts some of the finest caramels in Denmark, maybe even the world.
