It’s a hyper-local, independent brewery that produces world-class beer. They’re behind some of the freshest and most experimental brews in the city, but they don’t mind flying under the radar. Since 2015, those in the know have been heading to Nordvest to get their hands on Flying Couch beer. Many have cracked open cans right in the courtyard on warm summer days, but as of this past April, you can now sit in the brand new Flying Couch Bar year-round and sip draft beer just steps from the tanks. With a 15-tap menu featuring names like ‘Willyam Shakesbeer’ and eclectic brews like Bloody Mary Sour, this is a place where fun and creativity flow from the taps as freely as the beer does.

Pick any two draft beers at Flying Couch Bar. Grab a seat inside and catch a glimpse of the brewing action, or sit out in the sun-drenched courtyard. The tap list changes all the time as they regularly rotate new brews into the mix. Drink a Knock Knock - Who’s There? DIPA with Motueka, Talus, Citra, and Nelson Sauvina hops, or a Kiosk Bashkherh NEIPA made with Ekuanot, Mosaic, and Citra. Try U Wot M8?, a Bloody Mary-inspired sour with a hint of spicy Tobasco, or keep it classic with a Pilsner. Taste Willyam Shakesbeer, a NEIPA with notes of tropical fruit, or Censur, a summery sour with calamansi, mango, and mandarin. Go for an elegant Manha Manha Pale Ale, a dry and bitter Nordvestkyst West Coast IPA, or a fruity and citrusy Yuzu Raspberry Sour.
