City Center’s newest poke bar is blending the best of both worlds – bright Asian flavors made with fresh Nordic ingredients. They partner with Danish suppliers whenever possible, avoid single-use plastics, and consciously choose foods grown in the Nordics over exotic imports. These poke bowls are big on flavor without being big on climate impact. Poke & Sons opened only a few weeks ago, but they are ready to make their mark on the Copenhagen food scene.

WHAT YOU GET

Pick any poke bowl and soft drink at Poke & Sons. Grab a seat inside or take your order to go. You can select a poke bowl from the set menu or build your own. Each bowl starts with a base of their signature sushi rice and lentil blend. Next, choose your protein from an array of options – everything from Norwegian salmon and Nordic shrimp to hoisin duck, five spice chicken, juicy pulled pork, and Danish tempeh. Layer on toppings like fermented red cabbage, pumpkin puree, julienned carrot, and seaweed salad. Add even more to the mix with pickled ginger, fresh pomegranate, or coriander. Dress your dish with sauces such as teriyaki mayo, ponzu sauce, or chili mayo. To drink, get a Tuxen Brewing Co craft soda in flavors like raspberry, cola, and ginger, or opt for a citrusy organic lemonade.
